And it seems every time we hit our local health food store, there’s a new option on offer: flax, cashew, rice—even hemp. Health-wise, the two most popular alternative milks have a lot to offer: You can avoid the hormones cows are fed, sidestep dairy sensitivities, and steer clear of the detergents that can be mixed in with your dairy milk.
