For the past 25 years, an annual report has been published ranking America’s states from healthiest to unhealthiest. The report also looks at how our nation’s health has improved—or, in some cases, how it’s gotten worse—since last year. Some highlights from this year’s edition: In 2014, smoking prevalence has gone down 3%, infant mortality has gone down 4%, and 5% more children are getting their immunizations. On the flipside, obesity in adults has increased 7% and physical inactivity—adults who haven’t exercised in the last 30 days—has gone up 3%. The bottom line: We’ve made some progress in the last year, but we’ve still got a long way to go. Here are the top 10 healthiest states in 2014:1. Hawaii2. Vermont3. Massachusetts4. Connecticut5.
